PUBG: Battlegrounds Download for PC (Free to Play)

Up to 100 players parachute onto a large map, scavenge for weapons, armor and vehicles, and fight while the safe zone shrinks. PUBG: Battlegrounds helped define the battle royale genre, and it still plays more slowly and tactically than many newer rivals: bullet drop, travel time and careful positioning matter. If you prefer faster movement and abilities, try Apex Legends.

What the game offers

Downloading on PC

1. Install Steam and sign in.
2. Open the PUBG: Battlegrounds page from the Download button below and choose Play Game.
3. Wait for the download, which needs about 40 GB of free space, then start the game.

PUBG is free-to-play on PC, so there is no purchase step for the base game.

System requirements

Steam lists these minimums: 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-4430 or AMD FX-6300, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 960 2 GB or Radeon R7 370 2 GB, DirectX 11 and 40 GB of storage. An SSD shortens map loading.

What costs money

Cosmetics: outfits, weapon skins and passes are sold for real money or earned through play. Krafton also publishes PUBG Mobile as a separate, phone-only game.
