Notion Web Clipper is the official Chrome extension from Notion Labs, Inc. It saves the page you are viewing into your Notion workspace, where you can tag it, link it to projects and read it on any device.

2 min read

If you already plan projects or keep notes in Notion, the Web Clipper turns it into a place to collect what you read online. One click sends the current page into your workspace.

How clipping works

  1. Click the Notion button in the toolbar when you find something worth keeping.
  2. Choose where to save it: a page or a database, such as a reading list or a project’s research table.
  3. The page is saved to Notion and can be opened on any device, online or offline.

Turn clips into action

Saved pages are ordinary Notion content. You can tag them, comment on them, link them to projects and assign them to teammates, which is handy for shared research.

Installing the clipper

  1. The Download button opens Notion Web Clipper on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome and sign in to your Notion account.
  3. Pin the extension so the Notion button is always visible.

Cost and account

The clipper itself is free. It needs a Notion account; Notion has a free plan, and its paid plans add features for larger teams. Clips count as content in your workspace like any other page.

Data

The store listing discloses that the extension handles website content, which is the page you choose to save. For a different take, Evernote Web Clipper offers annotated screenshots, and Save to Google Drive stores pages as files.

Pros

  • One-click saving into pages or databases
  • Clips become linkable Notion content
  • Free to use

Cons

  • Only useful with a Notion account
  • Saves pages, not annotated screenshots
