Keplr is a free, self-custodial multichain wallet for the Cosmos ecosystem, also supporting Bitcoin, EVM chains and Starknet. It is available as an extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge and as iOS and Android apps, and it can be used with a Ledger.
Keplr is the wallet many people use for the Cosmos ecosystem: the network of interconnected blockchains that includes Cosmos Hub and many app-specific chains. It has grown to cover Bitcoin, EVM chains and Starknet as well.
What Keplr does
- Multichain portfolio: Track assets across many chains without switching networks by hand.
- Staking and governance: Delegate tokens to validators, claim rewards and vote on governance proposals. Staking rules and risks differ by chain, so read them first.
- NFTs and dApps: View NFTs and connect to apps across supported chains.
- Ledger support: Connect a Ledger hardware wallet for added security.
Self-custody and sign-in options
Keplr is self-custodial: you control the funds. You can create or import a wallet with a 12- or 24-word seed phrase or a private key, or sign in with a Google account or Apple ID. If you use social sign-in, the security of that account becomes part of your wallet’s security, so protect it with two-factor authentication.
Platforms and download
The Download button opens keplr.app/get, which links to the extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge and to the iPhone and Android apps. In app stores, the publisher is Space Explorers Inc. (App Store) or Team Keplr (Google Play). Keplr’s site also links to a manual download; use it only from keplr.app itself.
Never share your seed phrase
Keplr’s Help Desk will never ask for your seed phrase or private key. Fake “validator” and “airdrop” sites often ask you to enter them; never do. For a mainstream Ethereum wallet, see MetaMask.
Pros
- Broad Cosmos ecosystem support
- Staking and governance voting built in
- Ledger support
Cons
- Many chains and options can overwhelm newcomers
- Social sign-in ties wallet security to that account
