Blender is free, open-source 3D creation software backed by the Blender Foundation. The current long-term support release is 5.2.3 LTS; it runs on Windows 8.1, 10 and 11, macOS 13 or later, and Linux, and needs at least 8 GB of RAM.
Blender brings almost every stage of 3D production into one program, from modeling a character to making a short animated film, product renders or game assets. Professional studios use it too, and because it is free, nothing stands between you and learning it.
What can you do with Blender?
- Modeling and sculpting: Polygon modeling plus brush-based digital sculpting tools.
- Rendering: Render scenes with Cycles for realistic results or EEVEE for fast previews.
- Animation: Bring things to life with rigs, keyframes and physics simulations.
- Video editing and 2D drawing: A built-in video editor, and Grease Pencil for 2D animation.
How to download and install
- The Download button opens the official download page on blender.org, which detects your operating system.

- The quick setup screen on first launch lets you set the language and choose your mouse and shortcut preferences.
System requirements
The official minimum is a 4-core processor with SSE4.2 support, 8 GB of RAM and a graphics card with at least 2 GB of memory and OpenGL 4.3 support. On macOS, you need a Mac with Apple Silicon. For complex scenes, 32 GB of RAM is recommended.
Good to know
“LTS” stands for long-term support: this release gets no new features but receives bug fixes for a long time. Pick LTS for work that needs stability, or the latest release if you want the newest features.
Pros
