D5 Render is a real-time ray-tracing renderer for architecture and interior design. The Community version is free; D5 Pro costs $360 USD a year. It runs on Windows 10 version 1809 or later and needs a ray-tracing-capable GPU.
D5 Render brings real-time ray tracing to architectural and interior visualization. Lighting, reflections and shadows update as you move around the scene, so you can judge the final image while you are still placing furniture and plants.
Free Community and paid plans
D5’s pricing page lists three plans:
- Community (free): unlimited projects, LiveSync integrations, environment and effect editing, vegetation tools, image, panorama and video rendering, a local asset library and a free trial of the AI features.
- Pro: $360 USD a year ($30 a month billed annually), adding unlimited AI features, city generation, VR walkthroughs, more render formats and the full 16,000+ asset library.
- Teams: $708 USD per seat a year, with multi-editor scenes and shared team libraries.
D5 also runs a separate education program for students, educators and schools.
How to install
- The Download button opens the official download page on d5render.com.
- Install the D5 Launcher, which installs D5 Render at the same time.
- From the launcher’s Workflow section, add LiveSync plugins for your modelling tool. The download page lists versions for SketchUp (2020.1 to 2026), 3ds Max and Rhino (6.1 or above), among others.
GPU requirements
D5’s ray tracing is built on DirectX Raytracing in Windows, so it needs Windows 10 version 1809 or higher and a supported graphics card. The minimum listed is an NVIDIA GTX 1060, Intel Arc A3 or AMD RX 6400. D5 checks your hardware when it first starts.
If you need a Mac-friendly option, Twinmotion runs on macOS; for a paid Windows alternative, see Lumion.
