AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is AMD's free driver and control application for Radeon graphics on Windows. Its Auto-Detect and Install tool identifies Radeon discrete or mobile graphics and AMD processors with Radeon graphics, then installs a compatible driver package.
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is both the graphics driver and the control panel for AMD Radeon graphics. The same package covers desktop Radeon cards, laptops with Radeon mobile graphics and AMD processors with built-in Radeon graphics.
Inside the control panel
- Gaming tab: View, configure and launch your installed games from one list.
- HYPR-RX: A one-click profile that turns on several performance features together; HYPR-RX Eco aims for power savings instead.
- Latency and frame rate: Radeon Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost, AMD Fluid Motion Frames and Frame Rate Target Control.
- Visuals: FreeSync, Enhanced Sync, Radeon Image Sharpening and Integer Scaling for older games.
- Capture and extras: Record in-game moments, reduce background noise with AMD Noise Suppression and tune your GPU without extra software.
The easiest way to get the right driver
AMD’s drivers page offers two routes. The Auto-Detect and Install tool checks your graphics model and Windows version, then downloads the latest compatible official package. Alternatively, you can select your product manually from the list on the same page.
- The Download button opens AMD’s official drivers and support page.
- Run the Auto-Detect tool, or pick your Radeon or Ryzen product by hand.
- Install with an account that has administrator rights, then restart if asked.
Supported Windows versions and older cards
Recent release notes list Windows 11 (version 21H2 and later) and 64-bit Windows 10 (version 21H2 and later), and AMD notes that operating system support can vary by product. Cards that AMD has moved to legacy status no longer receive new driver updates, so they stay on the final driver released for them.
Pros
- Driver and control panel in one package
- Auto-Detect tool picks the right driver
- Many performance and image features built in
Cons
- Legacy Radeon cards no longer get new drivers
- The number of options can feel overwhelming
