2 min read

Shrinking a holiday folder for email, turning HEIC photos from a phone into JPEG or adding a watermark to every product picture are all jobs you do once per file in a normal editor. XnConvert does them for a whole folder at once.

How XnConvert works

You build a small recipe and apply it to as many files as you like:

  1. Input: Drag in files or folders.
  2. Actions: Stack operations such as resize, rotate, crop, colour adjustments, filters and watermarks. More than 80 operations are available.
  3. Output: Choose the format, the destination folder and a naming pattern.

Recipes can be saved as presets and reused later, which saves time when you repeat the same task every week.

Formats

XnConvert reads more than 500 formats, including JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, PSD, AVIF, HEIC, JPEG XL, OpenEXR and camera RAW files, and exports to about 70 formats.

Download and installation

  1. The Download button opens the official XnConvert page on xnview.com.
  2. Windows: The current release targets 64-bit Windows 10 and 11, with a setup file and a ZIP version. Older builds remain available for Windows 7 and 8.
  3. macOS: A universal DMG runs on Intel and Apple silicon Macs.
  4. Linux: DEB and TGZ packages are offered for 64-bit systems such as Ubuntu 22.04 or newer.

Licence note

XnConvert is freeware for private and educational use, including non-profit organisations, and comes without adware. Companies using it commercially should check the licence terms on the XnView website.
