Wordtune is an AI writing extension from AI21 Labs that paraphrases sentences, adjusts tone, fixes grammar and generates text on websites where you write. A free Basic plan has daily limits; paid plans raise them.

2 min read

Sometimes a sentence says the right thing in the wrong way. Wordtune suggests alternative versions of it, right inside the text box you’re writing in, so you don’t have to copy and paste into another tool.

Key features

  • Paraphrase: Get rewrites of a sentence that keep its meaning but fit your tone, context and audience better.
  • Tone: Move text from casual to formal, or the other way around, with a click.
  • Grammar and spelling: Fixes are applied in the rewrites.
  • Generate text: Draft content inside the website you’re writing on.
  • Translate: Write in your own language and get an English version.

The extension works on websites you write on in Chrome, and Wordtune also has a mobile app.

Free and paid plans

According to Wordtune’s plans page, the free Basic plan includes a limited number of rewrites and AI suggestions per day (10 at the time of writing). The paid Advanced and Unlimited plans raise or remove that limit and add features such as AI summaries; both offer a short free trial. Check wordtune.com for current prices.

Privacy

Wordtune states that it anonymizes user inputs and automatically removes personal information such as names, email addresses and physical addresses. Installing the extension means accepting its privacy policy and terms of use. As with any AI writing tool, avoid pasting confidential documents unless your organization allows it.
