QuillBot Chrome Extension: Paraphrase and Fix Text Anywhere

QuillBot is best known for its paraphraser, the tool that rewrites a sentence in different words. The Chrome extension takes that and the rest of QuillBot’s writing tools to any text box on the web, so you do not need to copy text into the QuillBot website.

Tools in the extension

• Paraphraser: rewrites a highlighted sentence or paragraph.
• Grammar checker: flags and fixes grammar mistakes.
• Humanizer: rewrites text to sound more natural.
• AI detector: checks whether text is likely to be flagged as AI-written.
• AI writer and chat: generates new text from a prompt.

How it works

Install the extension and write as usual. Highlight text or open the QuillBot toolbar in any text field to get suggestions, then apply the ones you like. Everything happens on the page you are working on.

Free and Premium

The extension is free to install and has free features, while QuillBot Premium is a paid subscription that removes limits and unlocks more modes. Check QuillBot’s own plans page for the current limits before relying on the free version for long documents.

Installing QuillBot

1. The Download button leads to the official QuillBot listing on the Chrome Web Store.
2. Click Add to Chrome, then sign in to a QuillBot account to use your plan.

Privacy

QuillBot says it processes only what is needed to give suggestions and does not sell your data. The store listing discloses that it handles personally identifiable information, personal communications, location and website content. As with Grammarly, avoid using it on confidential text. Using a paraphraser to pass off someone else’s work as your own can break school or workplace rules.
