TradingView is a charting and market analysis platform from TradingView, Inc. It runs in the browser, as TradingView Desktop for Windows, macOS and Linux, and as an app for iOS and Android.
TradingView is a charting platform used for crypto, stocks, forex and other markets. It works in a browser, but the desktop app is more comfortable when you keep charts open all day.
Why use the desktop app
- Native multi-monitor support: Spread chart windows across several screens and restore the layout later.
- Charts from your desktop menu instead of hunting through browser tabs.
- Synced symbols and crosshairs across tabs and displays.
- Same account everywhere: Layouts and watchlists follow you to the web and mobile apps.
Free and paid plans
TradingView has a free plan with core charting, and paid plans that add more indicators per chart, more alerts and other limits. Compare the plans on the official pricing page before upgrading.
Download and install
- The Download button opens tradingview.com/desktop/, which offers builds for Windows, macOS and Linux.
- On phones, use the App Store or Google Play links on this page; the developer is TradingView, Inc.
- Sign in with your TradingView account to bring over your saved charts.
A word of caution
TradingView’s own name is often used in fake “cracked” or “premium for free” downloads, especially through video descriptions and search ads. These files are a common way to spread password-stealing malware. Get the app only from tradingview.com or the official stores. Charts and indicators describe the past; they do not predict prices. To follow prices without charting, the CoinGecko app is simpler.
Pros
- Native multi-monitor support
- Runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile
- Free plan for core charting
Cons
- Many limits on the free plan
- Fake "cracked" versions spread malware
