CoinMarketCap is a widely used reference for crypto prices and market capitalization rankings. Its app brings those rankings, charts and alerts to your phone.

A data source, not an exchange

CoinMarketCap shows information gathered from exchanges and projects. It does not hold your crypto, and a high ranking does not make an asset safe. If a coin you have never heard of is climbing the lists, treat it with extra caution.

Downloading the real app

1. Use coinmarketcap.com/mobile/ or the store links on this page; the developer is CoinMarketCap, LLC.
2. Scammers send emails and direct messages pretending to be CoinMarketCap listing teams or offering “airdrops”. The real app never needs your wallet’s recovery phrase.
3. If you sign in, use a strong unique password.

Reading the numbers

Market capitalization is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it says little about how easy a token is to sell. Look at trading volume and where the asset is traded, too. A token with a large market cap but very thin volume can be hard to sell at the listed price.
