Rocket League is a free-to-play car soccer game from Psyonix, part of Epic Games. On PC it is installed through the Epic Games Store on Windows and needs a 2.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 20 GB of space.
The idea behind Rocket League fits in one sentence: soccer, but every player is a rocket-powered car. Matches last five minutes, and you can boost, jump, flip and fly to hit an oversized ball into the opponent’s goal.
Why is it fun?
- Easy to start, hard to master: Anyone can drive into the ball, but aerial shots and wall play take hundreds of hours to perfect.
- Short matches: A five-minute game makes it easy to play one more.
- Modes: 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 in casual and competitive playlists, plus rotating modes such as Hoops and Rumble.
- Cross-play: PC and console players can be matched together.
