Keepa - Amazon Price Tracker is a free Chrome extension from Keepa GmbH that adds price history charts and price-drop alerts to Amazon product pages across several Amazon marketplaces. It is installed from the Chrome Web Store.

2 min read

A product marked “30% off” may have cost the same price last month. Keepa shows you the history, right on the Amazon page, so you can judge a sale for yourself.

What you get

  • Price history charts: An interactive chart appears directly on Amazon product pages.
  • Price-drop and availability alerts: Set a target price and get notified when the item drops below it or comes back in stock. Lightning Deals are tracked too.
  • International comparison: Compare prices across Amazon’s regional stores.
  • No account needed to start: Charts show up without signing in.

The listing names support for Amazon .com, .co.uk, .de, .co.jp, .fr, .ca, .it, .es, .in and .mx.

Permissions, explained

Keepa explains its permissions in the store listing: access to keepa.com and Amazon domains to place charts on the page, cookie and network permissions for features such as showing third-party seller stock, local storage for your settings, and an optional context-menu entry (off by default) to open several products on keepa.com at once. The listing also states that eBay links in the Keepa box go through the eBay affiliate program.

Installing it

  1. Click Download to open Keepa on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Add it to Chrome and open any Amazon product page.
  3. Scroll to the Keepa box below the product details to see the chart; use the tracking tab to set an alert.

If you want coupons or cash back rather than price history, compare it with Honey and Rakuten.

Pros

  • Price history directly on Amazon pages
  • Target-price and back-in-stock alerts
  • Clear explanation of permissions

Cons

  • Only covers Amazon
  • The chart box adds a lot of detail to product pages
