Destiny 2 Download: Bungie’s Free Sci-Fi Shooter

In Destiny 2 you play as a Guardian defending humanity’s last city, travelling between planets to complete missions and collect better weapons and armor. It mixes the feel of a polished first-person shooter with the loot and progression of an online RPG.

What’s in the free version?

• Three classes: Titan, Hunter and Warlock, each with its own abilities and subclasses.
• Missions and patrols: Story missions and open areas you can explore with other players.
• Strikes: Three-player co-op missions that end in a boss fight.
• Crucible: PvP modes for players who prefer to fight each other.

How to download

1. The Download button opens the official Destiny 2 page on Steam.
2. Sign in with your Steam account and click “Play Game”; on first launch your Steam account is linked to Bungie.net.
3. New players start with a guided introduction that explains the basics.

System requirements

According to Steam, the minimum is 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i3 3250 or Pentium G4560 or AMD FX-4350 processor, 6 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2 GB, GTX 1050 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7850 2 GB graphics card, and 105 GB of free space. Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 are no longer supported.

Free base game, paid expansions

The base game is free. Story expansions and some seasonal content are sold separately; raids and other activities tied to an expansion require owning it.
